About
Last Week in Maldives
An independent weekly digest covering the Maldives — clearly, concisely, every Friday.
What we do
Last Week in Maldives (LWIM) is a free weekly newsletter and website that distils the most important stories from the Maldives into ten clear, readable summaries — delivered every Friday morning.
We cut through the noise of daily news cycles so readers get the full picture without spending hours across multiple sources. No opinion columns. No click-bait. Just the week, clearly told.
Who we are
LWIM is independently operated. We are not affiliated with any political party, government body, or commercial interest. Our journalism is funded through advertising and reader support — never through editorial sponsorships that influence our coverage.
Our editorial team curates and synthesises reporting from across the Maldivian press and international sources that cover the region.
How it works
Every week our team reviews dozens of news sources, selects the ten most consequential stories, and writes clear summaries with source attribution. Stories are categorised across Politics, Economy, Tourism, Environment, Society, and Crime.
Editions are published on the website every Friday and delivered by email to subscribers at no charge.
Independence
LWIM does not accept payment to favour or suppress coverage of any topic, person, or organisation. Sponsored content (advertorials) is always clearly labelled and kept separate from editorial content.
For our full editorial guidelines see our Editorial Standards.
